Taya’s R&D team start the journey to create the first generation of PVC-free materials.


2009
The new coating technology leads to the inaugural launch and sales of Eco-7 & Bio-7 materials in Germany.
2010 - 2011
Eco-7 and Bio-7 were consolidated into a single product and rebranded as KAVALAN. This marked the beginning of a broader vision—to evolve KAVALAN into a comprehensive product line. The conceptualization and development of the full KAVALAN range officially began.
2012-2015
2012
KAVALAN officially expands to 5-meter widths, and R&D for its second-generation water-based eco-friendly coating technology begins.
2013
KAVALAN broadens its product line with the launch of Gecko—a wallcovering material featuring second-generation eco-friendly technology.
2014
The establishment of a dedicated KAVALAN production line marks a key step in scaling operations.
2015
- Taya’s R&D team completes successful trials of KAVALAN Spiderweb and Butterfly material ranges featuring second-generation technology.
- Eco-7 and Bio-7 are enhanced with second-generation technology and reintroduced under the new name, Sunlight.
2016-2017
2016
- KAVALAN became the first PVC-free brand offering a complete product range designed to directly replace PVC banners worldwide.
- Taya’s R&D team developed the third generation of water-based eco-friendly coating technology, featuring a directly weldable coating formula.
2017
KAVALAN made its official debut at FESPA Hamburg.

Initiation of the industry’s first certified LCA program.
2019
- KAVALAN becomes the first PVC-free banner material range to offer sustainable large-format printing solutions up to 5 metres in width.
- TAYA Europe BV is established in Belgium to better support and serve our European partners.
2020
- KAVALAN received ILF Angels Award for Product Innovation.
- The first KAVALAN educational video was introduced in 13 languages.
2021-2025
2021
- The second KAVALAN educational video is released in 9 languages, expanding global accessibility.
- Official launch of the KAVALAN Eco Calculator, empowering users to quantify their environmental impact.


2022
KAVALAN’s Sunlight Weldable and Spiderweb 300 obtained the Warringtonfire fire-resistant certification CERTIFIRE TS62.
2023
KAVALAN releases its third educational video, focusing on freshwater resources.
2024
KAVALAN received the 2024 PRINTING United Alliance Pinnacle Award in the Product Category.


2025
KAVALAN unveils its refreshed brand identity at FESPA 2025 in Berlin, marking a strategic expansion into the industrial fabric sector. The event also saw the launch of the inaugural KAVALAN Green Leader Awards, celebrating sustainability champions across five award categories.
